Sydney Post Cruise Hotels

As you know, we will arrive in Sydney on February 27, staying overnight and disembarking on February 28. We highly recommend staying in Sydney at least through March 1st simply to experience the magic of the Harbour Party on the 28th. It’s an amazing event located directly on Sydney’s famous Harbour with spectacular views of both the Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge.
Our host hotel for this program will be the 5-star Sheraton on the Park Hotel, easily one of the top hotels in Sydney. The Sheraton is located directly on Hyde Park, within walking distance of most major attractions and only a few minutes to Oxford street, the heart of gay Sydney. Rooms are large and comfortable, recently renovated throughout. All hotel programs include a seamless transfer from the ship to the Sheraton on the 28th, tickets to the Harbour Party, priority access to Mardi Gras events, complimentary internet access, complimentary access to the fitness center, and all taxes & gratuities.
Atlantis will offer two types of hotel programs, one designed as a short stay to compliment the cruise and experience Sydney plus the Harbour Party. Our longer program immerses you in the magic of Mardi Gras, featuring daily events and staying through the grand finale weekend for the world’s largest and most spectacular gay and lesbian party.

Mardi Gras Events and Tickets
Sydney’s Mardi Gras is simply the largest and most exciting gay and lesbian event on the planet. Our cruise has been timed to match the spectacular Mardi Gras Parade on February 27, allowing our guests the opportunity to stay in Sydney for the Harbour Party on February 28 and the events of the following week. The main events as scheduled today are:
February 27– Mardi Gras Parade
February 28 – Harbour Party
March 1-6 – Mardi Gras Festival Events to be announced shortly
March 7 – Mardi Gras Party
March 8 – Mardi Gras Recovery Parties
We will update this schedule with more details in the coming weeks. There will be a lot happening during the first week of March, with a special event virtually every night. Atlantis will also offer optional tours to Sydney’s surrounding attractions, including Bondi Beach, the Blue Mountains, Olympic Park, and other exciting places.
Atlantis will also offer tickets to all events before they are released to the public. Due to their limited supply, Harbour Party tickets are not available individually and must be purchased with a hotel package. We might be able to offer them at a later date as a separate purchase.

Reserved Parade Grandstand Seats

The Mardi Gras parade attracts an audience of up to 500,000 people along Oxford street in Sydney and starts at 8:00 PM. While it is possible to watch it standing in the street, we find that the best (and most fun) option is to watch it from the Bobby Goldsmith Foundation Parade “Glamstand”. These grandstand seats allow comfortable seated views of the parade and benefit Sydney’s largest non-profit AIDS charity. We highly recommend joining us in the grandstand as Atlantis will have a block of seats reserved just for our group.
Tickets are $110 USD and must be purchased by November 30, 2009. Once purchased, tickets are non-refundable.
